How it's calculated
The rating score is a Bayesian average: (5 × 3.00 + sum of stars) / (5 + number of votes). While TablePick has few votes, we use 3.00 as the reference average. That way a game with a single 5-star vote doesn't beat one with many high votes. It isn't a probability that you'll like a game.
Ties are broken by number of votes or the most recent play, then by name.
Without accounts we can't verify who votes or plays: each browser counts as a participant, and one person could use several. That's why we always show how many votes and plays are behind each figure.
